Canvas Update: Tuesday Kickoff event and additional migration requests

Dear Colleague,
We have several updates this week concerning the transition from ReggieNet to Canvas. These include the opportunity to request the migration of additional course sites from the old system to the new one.
Canvas Kickoff – Tuesday, March 21
Please join us fora special introduction to Canvason Tuesday, March 21, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom at the Bone Student Center. Instructors currently participating in the pilot program will be on hand to show off their courses and answer questions. This is an open-house-style event, so come when you can, grab a snack, and stay as long as you want!
Learning to teach with Canvas
In addition to the Kickoff event, there are two other professional development opportunities available:
- All instructors and staff are encouraged to enroll in a self-paced, online Canvas course calledFundamentals for Faculty. This experience showcases basic features and advance course design techniques in our new system.
- Registration is now open forsynchronous, online workshopsfacilitated by the Center for Integrated Professional Development. These start March 20.
New Course Migration Requests – Due before April 7, 2023
Instructors may now request to have additional courses migrated from ReggieNet to Canvas, including courses from before the spring of 2021. This latest round of course requests is only for catalogue courses (i.e., for-credit courses and not ongoing or project course sites).
Please indicate if you need to request a course migration before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023.
Owners of special ReggieNet sites not tied to course catalogue numbers will be contacted later this spring with options, which will include migrating that content to Canvas.
